Pen and Ink Journal (Entry # 13)
Pen and Ink Journal (Entry #13)
My journal~ recording of life around the house.
A Grimoire, a wizards journal, my version of Ashmole 782
The above picture "Nest" uses walnut ink and watered down acrylic paint. There is an egg stamp and an ink blot stamp used on the left page.
The below picture "Cardinal" is all walnut ink except for the black around their beaks and that is acrylic. The ink blot and the coffee cup stains are also stamps.
The "Blue Jay" pages below are probably some of my favorites in the entire book. I love the way he turned out and the blue jay sculls were a nice addition.
Not a big fan of the "Storms" pages shown below. Well, I'm a huge fan of storms... I prefer rain over sunshine, but trying to paint a storm was really difficult.
Once again, I had no choice.
I had assigned the page "storms" ahead of time,
so when I got to it in the journal, I had to paint it.
"Dragonfly" is a combination of stamps and a hand drawn dragonfly.
The large dragonfly on the right page is the one I drew, the rest are all stamps.
"Angels in the Architecture" is from a wall in the back yard with a concrete angel hanging.
The trellis was covered with flower blooming vines and was quite pretty until it took over the house and began growing over the roof.
We couldn't get it under control! It was so heavy, it crushed the trellis.
Now I have the angel hanging on a bare wall
with a dirt planter underneath.
The yard really needs some attention,.
The "Bees" page is too busy. This page got wayyyyy out of hand.
This is why this journal is so great.
It has too much going on, yet it still kinda fits the rest of the book.
I like the two tiny bees on the bottom right page best.
That all for this week, next post will be on Sunday.
Thank you for visiting!
