My Grimoire or "Spiderwick Chronicles"
Animal Spirits
I have this theory. When we die, we go to heaven.
When our pets die, they don't want to leave us,
so they stay until it is 'our time' and then they go with us.
Have you ever noticed your "new" dog starring at nothing?
It's because dogs can see spirits.
They see the 'ghosts' of the other dogs.
This illustration shows our Doberman "Panzer" our mutt mix "Cooler", "Stella" our mini Schnauzer and our latest big ole boy to pass away "Grizzly".
I work the early shift at Starbucks.
I leave for work at 4:40 AM every Monday through Thursday. When I drive out, my lights pass over and through the palm trees.
It's very dark and I can see the lights reflected
in the eyes of many night creatures.
When you're out walking, if you see those white glowing eyes, turn around and walk quietly away. Leave them to their lives.
However, if the glowing white eyes, turns to red ~ get out of there!
The "Night Creepers" can become quite aggressive.
They camouflage themselves by the bushy dried clumps of grass that is really their hair, growing out of their backs, necks and heads. During the day they burrow themselves down into the soil and their backs have a turtle shell hardness to it, so if you walk on it, you just think it's hard dirt.
This was drawing a moonlit night scene with a large moon in the background. Again, part of the assignment for this page, so I had to figure out how to draw it.
Miniature Dragons
Our mini dragon is the size of a mouse. He has been with us since we built the house in 1979. He actually moved over from our old house, but he was quite young then. More comfortable living outside, they are quite small, much smaller than my drawings. They are most often mistaken as bats.
They are active mostly at night, keeping their long Iguana tails curled up against their bodies when they fly.
The tree in our front yard has a large knot hole in it. I often imagine the tiny creature that lives in there.
This is her, watching me come home from work.
Night Gnomes
Did you ever wake up in the morning and find your pictures hanging on the wall, are no longer straight and are now tilted? That's because the fairies sit on the frames and when they kick off to fly, it pushes the picture down on one side.
This happens a lot in our home.
All for now!
