Epcot's Art in the Garden

Me and the booth.
The view across the lake, looking out from the booth.
View from the back, the "Disney Mickey Ears" done in flowers.
View from our beautiful room, Epcot's Beach and Yacht Club.

Some pictures I might want to paint

These are some of our artist friends.
One friend, Rhonda, paints beautiful miniature watercolors of everything. I'm inspired. I want to go buy all the stuff to paint some of these pictures that I've included in the blog pictures.

Art in the Garden at EPCOT

I'm still really sick. I can't speak! I've TOTALLY lost my voice. Too funny. Chuck and Alex should be thrilled. I can't yell at them for what a mess the house was when I got back home.

The art show was so much fun, after all it was in Disney World! People were looking for deals, but I still managed to sell my stuff, some of mom's and one of Chuck's birdhouses. The three different types of art complimented each other and went well with the theme of "Art in the Garden".

Donna and I broke away at times to take in the different countries of Epcot. I took loads of pictures and really want to try and paint some of the Moroccan vignettes. The flowers were spectacular. It was the most unbelievable display of topiaries and container gardens. Thousands of flowers are brought in just for a few months of the garden show. All the Disney character's were made from vines and plant material. They were everywhere, Pluto, Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, Tinkerbell, Lady and the Tramp... all of them! Speaking of Tinkerbell, our friend's Vicki and her sister Rhonda, make the Tinkerbell houses for Disney World. If you check out the photos, you will see one of their houses.

We even got in an evening over at the Magic Kingdom! The fireworks were worth the trip by themselves. If we get invited back next year, it's a "no brainer". Can NOT wait for this one to come around again.

Just in from Disney...

1.)A prince and princess in the woods
2.)Donna and me at the "Artist Welcome Banquet"
3.)Small faeries were everywhere in their Disney dresses.
4.)Out walking in the late afternoon.

Hi! We just got back from the Epcot "Art in the Garden" art show. What a blast! Unfortunately, I got sick and tonight I can't find the energy to blog and catch up, so, I'm just posting a few pictures.
I'll catch up when I'm feeling better.

The last weekend before the show.

It's Sunday evening and the Epcot show is this next weekend. I didn't get enough done today, my back is out again. I had to lay flat most of the day.
I'm not worried. Mom came through with 3 "box loads" of handmade leaves for the show. They are BEAUTIFUL. The only thing I completed was printing my business cards, pricing everything, and the sticky tags with my email and blog address attached to the backs.
I will be glad when it is this time next week. The show will be over and I can resume my life!

Do we like these?

These are some pictures of the new items for the show. I'm not sure if I love them. They will be hanging on wires. I think I can (maybe) sell them because they will be cheap. We will see!

New box

A box for the show. I love this bird. I plan to make jewelry out of the pattern. Hmmm, sounds like a new class for this year!

Grizzly's the photo.

Upon looking at the finished frames for the art show, I realized that I had no photos in them. There was just an opening, an empty hole. People need to know they're picture frames. I decided to take photos of Griz, reproduced them in black and white, and put them in each of the frame openings. I think that it looks better now. Plus, he's so cute, I think people will stop at the booth to look at him!

Getting ready for an art show.

This is tough. I hate this part of art shows. The "getting ready" part. The first weekend of the month is gone. The show is at the end of this month. I'm starting to get a little panicky. There needs to be decorations for the booth. I need more business cards, receipts, calculator, merchandise, displays... A lot of preparation.
Mostly, do I have ENOUGH stuff to sell? I'm working as fast as I can, but it still is feeling very light. Hopefully everything will come together. I do have help. Donna is coming with some of her art and mom is bringing her beautiful leaves. In addition to those, Chuck's birdhouses will make nice display pieces too.
Part of me dreads this.
The other part is really looking forward to it.
I have to focus on the second.

Walk for the Animals

This last weekend was the Humane Society's "Walk for the Animals". It was a beautiful, cool morning with tons of dogs with their humans. I've never seen so many dogs in one place! The following pictures are of my friends from work and some adorable/funny pups!
