Could it be possible???

For years I've been longing for a hummingbird nest for my collection. I had a visit this weekend from my sister Roo and niece Brittany and they brought me the most perfect gift. A nest. Is it possible that it could finally be my hummingbird nest? It's very, very small!

Oh Yummy!

Caramel Macchiato. Now this is a pretty, pretty drink. Special syrup mixed with hot steamed milk, topped with a 1/4 inch thick foam, a couple of shots of espresso poured over the foam (hence the term Macchiato or "marked") and topped with thick caramel drizzle. Did I mention super delicious too? I wasn't a fan of caramel when I started at Starbucks but this drink won me over.
Yum!
Perfect for that rainy day you see in the background.

Change is Constant

Sometimes you hear something that sounds good. I'm a fan of "Grey's Anatomy" and at the end of the new season 7 premier show, they ended with this following commentary. Merrideth is doing a voice over, while Owen marries Christine. It was beautiful and sounded really, really good.

When we say things like "People don't change" It drives scientist crazy.
Because change is literally the only constant in science. Energy, matter, it's always changing. Morphing, merging, growing, dieing, it's the way people try NOT to change that is unnatural. The way we cling to the way things were, instead of letting them be what they are. The way we insist on believing , despite every scientific indication that anything in this life is permanent.
Change is constant.
The way we experience change, that's up to us. It can feel like death or it can feel like a second chance at life. If we open our fingers, loosen our grips, go with it, it can feel like pure adrenalin. Like at any moment we can have a second chance at life.
Like at any moment we can be born all over again.

Grizzly had a "spend over"!

"Jack" (middle name "Russel", last name "Ash") is visiting from Atlanta. I was so impressed with how well Grizzly and Jack got along! However, it didn't take long for him to move into Grizzly's bed.
Now no fighting boys... if you want to do this some other night, you both must get along!!!

rattled brain

It's been a month, an entire month since I started my cool job as a barista. But I'm suffering tonight. I'm suffering from self doubt. I don't think I'm catching on as quickly as I should. People get so annoyed with me. In addition to that, I can't hear half of what the customers say! I even think one of the managers is getting fed up with my questions. I get a little rattled and then all goes wrong. Today we were super busy and the customers would would want to dig into the bottom of their purse for $3.oo in dimes and pennies. Then when the next customer would get to me, they were already angry for having to wait so long.
I love it though.
I'll just be reeeaaaallllly happy when I finally (totally) get it.

Yea! Back to soldering again.

Starbucks art! I pulled out my soldering gun and started playing again this weekend with my
glass, glue and lead. I forgot how much I liked to do this.

I need caffeine... I love it! But I misspelled caffeine! Now I need to take it all apart and redo it. Crapola!

I decided to make it for my boss. Her name is Liz Robitaille. She's the coffee "Master".

Simply the most beautiful magazine ever.

This magazine is the most beautiful magazine ever. It is called:
The Jeanne d' Arc Living Magazine
www.jeannedarcliving.dk
It is a Danish magazine that is translated into English. The one here (that I took pictures of) is on loan from my friend Donna. She thinks she is getting it back. I'm thinking about pretending to lose it.

Just look at these beautiful photographs. The way they used the old windows and distressed shutters, delicious!

Doesn't everyone want one of these old arched windows? I've been looking for years now, but no luck. My friend Faith has one, it has photos (attached on the inside of the glass) of her daughter's wedding. It is magnificent.

This article is about decorating candles. There are more photos in the following post from this magazine.

Simply the most beautiful magazine ever: Continuied...,

Those of you that know me, know how much I love angels. This magazine always seems to have many of them for me to swoon over.

Oh my, I need to start collecting the candelabras. I need to start collecting THESE candelabras.

Another project for me. I want to start working with bottles. I have wax, labels and adornments. Now I need the time.

Oh my gosh! Tell me this isn't MY angel!

This article was about decorating candles with fancy things like crystals and trims. I want to do this too.
Remember, the magazine is called: The Jeanne d' Arc Living
Well worth the money.

Wine rack

I found this wine rack in the sale area of the"Old Time Pottery" store. It was pure white and pretty dinged up. I spray painted it black and Ahhhh, the wonders of stencils! I stenciled it with gold paint in a mutitude of different patterns. Later I distressed it with a soft sand paper and lastly coated it with antiquing gel.

When it was complete I drank the bottle of Merlot, propped the empty bottle into the new wine holder and took a nap.
hee hee... not really.
:)

Angel candy dish

I found this base to a candy dish this weekend at a garage sale. I love it. I'm going to see if I can get my friend Vicki to show me how to make a dimensional mold out of one of the angels so I can make jewelry out of it. How cute!
Hmmmm.... another project to add to the list of about 500 I already have waiting for me to take on!

Some of south florida critters's

There is this really cool tree on the way to my house with a large hole in it's side. I always imagine that Gnomes live in there. Today when I drove by, the Gnome's pet lizard was waiting for them to come home.

If this tree was mine, I would put a tiny ladder from the ground up to the hole. So when people drove by they would do a double take.

A new lizard is in town. I heard this one is called a "Cuban Lizard", does anyone know if that is the right name? I also heard they gobble up all the other species of local lizards AND they bite. He seems pretty content to just sit on the snail's head. The snail looks a little worried though...

I'm not sure what's cookin in here. Maybe it's one of these cool black and yellow fellows that are pictured below. He was moving to the left so I think that's his head on that side!

All my pictures are shot with a Cannon G10. I love this camera because it does all the work!
