angels & butterflies

I spent most the weekend (still) setting up the new studio area. It's coming along, however
the floor (original carpeting since 1979) needs to come out and be replaced with 'fake wood' floors.  The rest of the area is up and working just fine. Well, I'M not working "just fine",
but the space seems like it's going to.

I worked on another canvas this weekend. It's difficult, but I'm taking the advice
of my 'muse' and I pretend it's not a canvas but rather a journal page.
This certainly makes the painting come a little easier.

I'm posting the above photo to prove I am working on a canvas.

Hi Karen, your canvas is beautiful just like all of your work. I love the butterflies. Can't wait for you to share your re vamped space, fake floor and all. My work space is a 6x6 space that I love, so I'm sure yours will be perfect.

Hello Karen, your work is amazing as always. I love the quotes (this one and the post before and the colors you choose to use, and the eyes . . . your characters have amazing eyes . . . well, what can I say, I just think that you have a very special talent:)

Thank you Marlene! I will eventually get around to posting pictures of the new "studio". It's an "L" shaped room, my son has the long part of the "L" and I've taken the short side. It's not very large either... maybe 7 feet by 9 feet. It was (kinda) a library before, now it's all mine! Thank you for saying sweet things. It's always a struggle to make things and then put it out into the world.

Thanks Connie! I keep thinking I'm going to paint landscapes or abstracts, but I keep coming back to faces and angels. I guess it's what inspires me and until I get tired of it, I'll keep painting those. It's always so encouraging when someone takes the time to post a comment. I appreciate it more than you realize.
